The Warm-Up is a quite important exercise for both coordination and fingers muscle. This exercises are usually based on a Symmetrical Pattern repeated on different strings. One of the most used warm-up exercise will be the 1234 Pattern. You can use the worm-up on two different occasions:
- Before a Performance, Concert or Function
- Before a Practice Session
Warm Up Before a Performance: I have seen many Guitar Players getting quite frustrated if they don’t have a chance to worm up before a concert. I usually prefer to worm-up because I think that this kind of exercises help me to get in a quite relaxed state of mind.
Warm Up Before a Practice Session: Use these exercises before your daily session. It will make your fingers ready to shred !!!
I have grouped the Warm-Up in 8 Stages. I would recommend to start from stage one, but if you are an Intermediate, Advanced Guitar Player, feel free to start from the stage you fell comfortable with …
Last thing !!! This exercises can kill your tendons. If you are a Beginner don’t do it for more than couple of minutes. If you feel pain (especially left hand) stop the exercise immediately for at least three days. If the pain doesn’t go, it would be a good Idea for you to see a doctor !!! Be careful plz !!!
