Acoustic Guitar Hybrid Picking Exercise (check lesson two for Electric Guitar Exercise).
Let’s learn how to use this technique with an easy arpeggio. We are in a key of G major and we are going to play some interesting chords. Remember that the hybrid picking is a combination of Picking and Fingerstyle so you want to make sure you use the right fingers and picking. Check the Tab and Video Tutorial for more info. The chord used in this exercise are
A – E7 – D
Make sure you learn the symbols on the tab.
- The little hat means downstroke
- m means middle finger (right hand)
- a means ring finger (right hand)
Key Point:
- Practice one chord at a time.
- Use the right fingers. Below the tab you have the finger pattern.
- Change the chord with no pause or gaps. The change must be smooth and accurate.
